(TMU Op-Ed) Mia Khalifa, a former porn actress, has said that it is “worse” to “sell your body” by entering the Army than it is to be on OnlyFans. She made this statement during an interview.
The statement was made on the late-night chat program Ziwe, which is hosted by Ziwe Fumudoh. The 29-year-old said that “selling your body” on OnlyFans is not as awful as “selling your body to the government” by serving in the military, and I mean, she makes a good point here. It’s far less destructive to be on OnlyFans than to serve a government hell bent on world domination, and who, quite frankly, is usually the aggressor when it comes to modern warfare.
Fumudoh said in the interview: “So we have OnlyFans, and then we have the sex work industry, and then we have like actors. Is there a difference between these industries or are we all fundamentally selling out bodies in some way?”
Khalifa replied: “Honestly, I think that selling your body, like if we are going by that definition, being in the army is worse than being on OnlyFans. You’re selling your body to the government.”
After hearing what she had to say, the host said, “Wow.” Since then, the video has been uploaded on TikTok, where it has received more than 270,000 likes and created a spirited debate among users.
One TikTok user writes: “I mean… where’s the lie?”
Others said: “She’s onto something.”
And obviously, others disagreed with Khalifa’s hot take saying things like : “Service to our country is NOT shameful.” And “support the troops,” while someone else said, “at least in the army you do something [for] society.”
You get the picture.
Regardless of whether you agree with her politics or not, you can’t deny that Khalifa is earning a lot off of OnlyFans. She is one of the best paid people on the platform.
During the same interview in which she made the remarks about the military, she disclosed that she makes approximately $10,000 per day from the subscription site. This is a significant increase from the $12,000 (total) she made during her pornographic career, which lasted for only three months.
It’s worth noting that every branch of the US military is down big on their recruitment numbers. Young people just don’t seem as willing to die for wars based on lies anymore. Sorry, empire.
