Machine Gun Kelly Makes Fan’s Dream Come True With Punch In The Face

While most performers request their fans to refrain from physical violence, punk-rocker Machine Gun Kelly agreed to an unusual plea from a fan: the desire to be hit in the face by the artist himself.

Machine Gun Kelly (MGK), shared a video on Instagram of his performance at the 2023 Rock Werchter festival in Belgium, where he engaged with a fan who held a sign asking to be punched by the Grammy-nominated artist. MGK paused to consider the fan’s request before reacting.

The fan’s sign read, “I just came from Mexico 4 u 2 punch me in the face.”

The 33-year-old musician then responded, holding a lit joint, “Why do you want me to punch you in the face so badly?”

The fan exclaimed, “I love you!”

Not entirely persuaded by the fan’s justification, the performer of “Papercuts” replied, “I got rings on, dude. That’s going to hurt.”

MGK then continued on the video, “It’s a no-win situation for me. I’m unsure if I’m going to do it. I’ll think it over.”

Later during his performance, while performing “My Ex’s Best Friend”, the Houston-born artist navigated through the crowd, held up the fan’s sign to the camera, and lightly struck the fan in the face.

He released his debut album “Lace Up” in 2012, showcasing collaborations with big names like Waka Flocka Flame, Young Jeezy, and Tech N9ne, and it shot up to number 4 on the US Billboard 200. His following act, “General Admission” in 2015, mirrored the success of its predecessor, also peaking at number 4 on the charts.

In 2016, MGK’s single “Bad Things” featuring Camila Cabello marked a milestone for the musician, granting him his first top 10 single on the Billboard Hot 100. Interestingly, MGK’s musical style has seen a significant evolution over his career. Originally making his mark as a rapper, his sound has transitioned into a more rock/punk vibe, most notably with his 2020 album “Tickets to My Downfall.” This album was not only his first full-fledged foray into pop-punk, but also his first to top the Billboard 200.

Beyond music, MGK has demonstrated his acting chops, appearing in films like “Beyond the Lights” (2014), “Bird Box” (2018), and Netflix’s “The Dirt” (2019), where he stepped into the shoes of Mötley Crüe drummer Tommy Lee.
